Blooming at Château La Garde: the countdown to harvest has begun

Share

At Château La Garde, the flowering stage marks the birth of a new vintage, shaped by a living, protected ecosystem.

The first promise of the 2025 vintage

They say it takes 100 days from flowering to harvest…

Here in Martillac, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, the first blooms have appeared in the vineyard.

This marks the beginning of the fruit’s journey. If conditions allow, each flower will become a grape.

And so begins the story of the 2025 vintage, already taking shape among the vines

A Bordeaux vineyard rooted in nature

Observing the flowering means pausing to notice everything else that thrives around it.

Because beyond the vines, Château La Garde is a place where nature is given space to flourish.

Certified at the highest level of High Environmental Value (HVE 3), the estate is committed to precise and respectful viticulture.

In 2022, in partnership with the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO), a detailed biodiversity study was conducted.

The results speak for themselves: 56 bird species – including several rare ones – were identified on or near the vineyard plots.

Add to that 33 species of butterflies, 17 dragonflies, 10 types of bats and 5 protected species of amphibians living close to the estate’s wetlands.

Viticulture in harmony with nature

Throughout the seasons, the teams at Château La Garde adapts its practices to preserve the delicate balance between vine and environment.

A fine wine is not born from soil alone, but from care and attention to everything that surrounds it.

See you in 100 days!
