Château La Garde
Red
Wine
With respect for the environment at the heart of their creation, the wines are the true expression of their origin, while reflecting Nature’s true splendour.
Château la garde fine wine
20 hectares of vines nestling at the heart of a mosaic of soils are devoted to Château La Garde red – compared to 40ha in the past – representing the estate’s most complex, distinctive and expressive vineyard blocks.
Agricultural engineer and qualified oenologist, Pierre has managed the estate for 11 years.
Joining the estate at the time of the very challenging 2013 vintage, he brought with him a fresh approach of great precision.
Supported in the vineyard by Ludovic Maury and in the winery, Guillaume Rousseau, Pierre drives the new vision of Château La Garde on a daily basis.
Le Grand Vin du Château La Garde
Made only in limited quantity, Château La Garde white is produced from only 2 hectares of vines on the estate. It draws its specific identity from a deep limestone vein which imparts exceptional purity to the Sauvignon Blanc.
Les seconds vins du Château La Garde
Château La Garde’s second wine, produced on 25 hectares, draws all the benefits of a more diverse terroir. Blocks of vines devoted to this wine are clearly identified and reserved exclusively for this purpose. Importantly, work in the vines is implemented with the same level of care and attention as the rest of the estate.
Château La Garde’s second wine, Terrasse de La Garde is a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
To further its pursuit of excellence, in 2023 Château La Garde unveiled a new packaging concept to reflect its identity.
On the label, a green background is a nod to the magnificent, verdant Château setting, and is the backdrop to an illustration depicting the two wineries to reflect the estate’s rich liquid history. The former winery, dating back to 1881, represents tradition and ancestral know-how. By its side, the new winery, constructed 140 years later, epitomises the Chateau’s far-reaching ambition and modernity.
